THE LAKE FRONTAGE – DIRECT ACCESS FOR YOUR BOAT
All guests have direct access to the 220 metres of Nagambie lake frontage
enjoyed by the property, and this makes it unique from all other
accommodation in the area.
Bring your own boat – use the boat-launching ramp, and tie up for
daytime mooring at
either of the two jetties, one 35 metres long and the other 15 metres
long.

WATER ACTIVITIES
Water activities include: skiing, fishing, rowing, canoeing, and
swimming in the lake. Go by boat from the Retreat directly up the
Goulburn River to the wineries of Tahbilk and Mitchelton, or Nagambie
township. The lake has been yielding good catches of fresh water
crayfish.
TENNIS - GOLF
The accommodation is set within three hectares of grounds, which has
two tennis hard courts, and some par three golf holes.
NATIVE WILDLIFE
Majestic gums around the property serve as roosts for some of
Victoria’s most beautiful parrots and native birds. Koala Bears have
been seen in the trees.
FLYING – GOLD FOSSICKING - PARACHUTING - WALKING
For the active there are very good facilities for flying training
- fixed wing, gliding, and helicopter - sky
diving, and parachuting. For those choosing more gentle pursuits walk
in the State forest, fossick for gold in the old diggings of Rushworth,
Whroo, and Graytown.
The Nagambie Lakes Rowing Club has a 2000 metre 8-lane straight course,
which is regularly used for state and national championships. Guests
are welcomed at the Nagambie Lakes Sailing Club's regular events.
 WINE
The Nagambie Lakes Wine Region is becoming better known by the day –
the best-known wineries being Tahbilk and Mitchelton. Many new
wineries abound in the region. A great day can be enjoyed by finding,
and then tasting the product of some of the smaller establishments.
RESTAURANTS – SHEPPARTON FRUIT BOWL - BARBEQUE
A
major upgrade of the Goulburn Valley highway from near the Retreat to Shepparton has just recently
been opened, and it now takes only 30 minutes drive to get to the
Ardmona Factory outlet shop. Campbell’s Food shop is a few minutes
out of Shepparton and is always worth a visit. Product in both
outlets are very heavily discounted to regular supermarket prices.
Shepparton has a number of very good restaurants – Nagambie has 3 pubs
all doing food – one is the new home of the Nagambie Lakes Rowing Club – and Sculler’s restaurant is first class.
Best of all is to use the Retreat’s outdoor barbeque facilities. Cook
what you catch or enjoy prime Goulburn Valley Beef supplied by our
gourmet butcher.
